These students are the great-grandchildren of the generation that fought on D-Day, 6 June 1944.
John Adams had something important to say on this topic in a letter to his wife, Abigail Adams, when he wrote,
“ I must study Politicks and War that my sons may have liberty to study Mathematicks and Philosophy. My sons ought to study Mathematicks and Philosophy, Geography, natural History, Naval Architecture, navigation, Commerce and Agriculture, in order to give their Children a right to study Painting, Poetry, Musick, Architecture, Statuary, Tapestry and Porcelaine.”

The site looks great Dr. Charnley! I will always cherish the memories and knowledge from our year for study abroad! I am now graduated and having study abroad on my application helped me get my new job as a great conversation starter for my phone interview. I still have all of my journal entries and much more if you are still looking for information. I wish you the best semester and thank you again for giving me such an amazing opportunity to travel and learn more about the world. 🙂
