US Navy WWII Veteran David A. Parrish Interviewed by Jonathan Bischoff 22 July 2006

 

This is an oral history interview by Jonathan Bischoff of Mr. David A. Parrish who served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater of Operations from 1944-1946.  Mr. Parrish served on the U.S.S. Atlanta CL. The date of the interview was 22 July 2006.  Mr. Bischoff was then an undergraduate student at Michigan State University and he had taken an oral history independent study with Professor Jeff Charnley who served as the Faculty Program Leader for the US and WWII Europe:  Memory and Memorials Study Abroad Program at Michigan State University.  Mr. Bischoff had participated in this study abroad program the first year it was offered in 2006.  Bischoff previously had received a local history award from the Historical Society of Michigan for another WWII veteran oral history he had done while in high school.
